Main Applications and Maintenance of Pre-painted Steel Sheets

Pre-painted Steel Sheet (also known as color-coated steel sheet or painted steel sheet) is a type of coated steel product manufactured through a roll-coating process, where paint is applied, followed by conversion treatment, baking, and cooling. The base materials for pre-painted steel sheets include cold-rolled steel, hot-dip galvanized steel, electro-galvanized steel, and aluminum-zinc alloy-coated steel.

The types of topcoats used on pre-painted steel sheets can be categorized into polyester (PE), silicon-modified polyester (SMP), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and high-durability polyester (HDP), among others. The production process has evolved from a single-coat, single-bake (1C1B) system to a two-coat, two-bake (2C2B) system, and even a three-coat, three-bake (3C3B) process has emerged.

Pre-painted steel sheets come in a variety of colors, such as white gray, ocean blue, orange, sky blue, scarlet, brick red, ivory white, and porcelain blue. The surface finishes can be classified into standard coated sheets, embossed sheets, and printed sheets. The primary market applications of pre-painted steel sheets include construction, home appliances, and transportation.

Pre-painted steel sheets offer an attractive appearance, lightweight properties, excellent corrosion resistance, and direct processability. They provide a modern alternative to wood, featuring high construction efficiency, energy savings, and pollution prevention.
